Interviewed by Jeanett
Beth Lahore as Steve Sloan
jeanette was very gracious in her questions to me. Here are my
answers and her questions
Lt. Sloan did you ever find yourself in a no win situation during
one of your investigations?
Almost every case is a no win situation. I mean- I'm a homicide
detective. People forget that Murder touches more than just the
murder victim.... the freinds and family of the perp often are
just as hurt and victimized as the corpse. the murder is like a
stone being thrown in a pond....those affected are the ripples.
Its wide reaching.
Do you find it harder to do undercover work now as opposed to
when you first joined the force?
I have a lot more life experiance now than I did back then. I
think I do a much more realistic job of becoming a whole new
personna. Not too thrilled with DEEP undercover. The hardest part
is pulling the wool over Dad's eyes. He knows me so well. I worry
that sometimes I hurt him.
Did you ever have to arrest someone who you thought did the
right thing even though it was against the law?
There is the letter of the law and the spirit of the law. Yeah. I
remember last Christmas. This guy was an escaped convicted
murderer. He had been convicted of murdering his wife. Turns out
he really wasnt guilty at all, and had a terminal illness. That
was a tough one. But that is just one instance.
Do you have a preference as to who you would like to be
partnered with on the job?
My dream partner I think would be Dad. He's smart...We know each
other well enough to anticipate each others movements and needs.
We can almost read each other's minds. He would be my dream
partner.
